unless you have a few kids - than a Van may make sense. Van also more economical in Gas consumption versus SUV. There really is no need for SUV. You would not drive to unpaved 4-wheel roads anyway.

More space is good for the kids so they dont get cranky.

but of course rental cost would be high.
