drive from Maryland to LA

I will move form Maryland to LA, now I have some questiones,
1. which highway is better from east to west, Highway 10, 40, or 70?
2. How easy to find campground near the highway?

If you had any experience or suggestion about the trip , please advise me, I appreciate very much.
