Just went skiing last weekend, snow was awesome, we had lots of fun. March should be OK, generally we can ski until late April.

There are lots of ski resorts in Tahoe, big ones like Squa, Heavenly, Sugar Bowl, North Star etc. are generally expensive (~$60 a lift ticket/day), but you can find some deals like $39 lift ticket for Sugar Bowl at certain Safeway stores. There are some small resorts like Boreal are much cheaper, but only a few runs. Search on the web, you will find more info.
