I guess. I did not think too much about the cost when booking the trip. It was supposed to be care-free fun time and enjoying nature in the most comfortable manner. The Brooks Lodge 3-nights-bear viewing package actually costs more than $1,500 per person including round-trip chartered flights from Anchorage to Katmai. The round trip ticket from SFO to Anchorage costs $550 per person. Then senic train ride to Denali NP, lodging, shuttle back, hanging out at Anchorage for a couple of days. It will be nice even if i have to go alone.
