100% agree. RV is the best choice. Next time we go, we would try that. How far in Denali one can go ? We saw some at the first 5 or 7 miles but did not see any once the park bus went inside further.

In 2003 we also took a cruise out from Seaward to Kenai Nat'l Park, about $100 a person after discount - 8+ hours trip. It went to one very long tidalwave glacier to see the calving. We also saw Humbacks & Orcas close up.

I am glad to hear the bear watching is not that exciting - it is quite expensive because of the fly in. We did not do it due to : 1) not enough time 2) too cheap to spend that much money just to watch silly bears to catch salmons. hoho.
