Do you know if Vermont will contact other states and report the ticket, therefore increase my car insurance? I GOOGLED online, some people say it does not. If that is the case, I will just pay the penalty. It does not worth my time to drive there and spend a day in court to fight it.

Other option could be to "Plead guilty in exchange for a deal". Since it is my first speeding ticket I would hope that the judge would consider

(1) deferred sentencing (case dropped if you do not have any other tickets for 6 or so months) and no points. (2) a reduction to a non-moving violation

Vermont seems famous for giving out-of-state car speeding tickets, especially during ski season.
