Those worries are little over rated.

I can tell you for sure that the sky is not falling in America.

One, the impact of drugs. Yes there are lots of drug addicts even among youth. But the majority of the young people are very positive and hard working. The teaching philosophy  favors the talented kind, the kids that are self motivated and are willing to learn. As a results, there will be kids are left behind. But for the good ones, they will succeed fabulously. Even as teenagers, they materiality has far exceeded majority of Chinese.

Two, the gun control issue. while the majority support tighter gun control, they also believe in the citizen's right to bear arms. I don't see that is a big problem. I honestly think America is a lot safer place to live in than China.

There is a fundamental difference in the philosophy on how a country should be run between China and America. In America, people do believe in that the government is of the people,by the people and for the people. With that belief in mind, it is also true that there are incompetent government officials and bad government policies, and that is why people are making adjustments all the time. In general the American policy is in its core very consistent.  Right or wrong, it never sacrifices the interest of American people for short tem political benefits.  Americans believe that you are what you stand for, and that is true for the government policies.
