The  Lake Isle of Innisfree

 

I WILL  arise and go now,and go to Innisfree,

And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattlesmade,

Nine been rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee,

And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

 

湖中小岛茵尼斯弗利

 

我就要动身走了，去茵尼斯弗利小岛，

在那儿搭建一座小茅屋，用树枝编墙糊上泥，

种上几行菜畦，蜂群搭建一排蜂巢，

独居在蜂群嗡鸣的林间草地。

 

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,

Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;

There midlight’s all a glimmer, and noon a  purple glow,

And evening full of the linnet’wings.

 

随着宁静慢慢地降临，我就会得到安宁，

寂静从清晨的薄雾落到蟋蟀歌唱的地方；

午夜闪烁着一片微光，正午紫光闪亮，

傍晚到处飞舞着红雀的翅膀。

 

I will arise and go now, for always night and day

I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;

While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements gray,

I hear it in the deep heart’s core.

 

我就要动身走了，无论是午夜还是白昼

我总听见湖水轻轻地拍打湖边的涛声；

不论我站在大道上还是灰暗的人行道

我心灵深处总听见那湖水声音在召唤。

 

诗人简介：（William Butler Yeats 1865–1939）威廉·巴特勒·叶芝出生于爱尔兰，童年居住在母亲的故乡斯莱戈（Sligo）,深受英格兰与爱尔兰文学的熏陶。叶芝荣获1923年诺贝尔文学奖。这首诗创作于1890年。全诗共三个诗节，每节四行，采用抑扬格六音步写成，韵式为abab,cdcd,efef. 全诗展示出一幅清新自然的田园风光画卷，构建了茵尼斯弗利小岛的美景。
