defensive intensity and enery level play a role.  During the lock out season, players could be less prepared and very tired with such tight schedule as sometime 3 games in a row when Lin just began to play with significant minutes for survival in NBA.  In comparison with others like Jordan in the record, he got much less attention in defensive side for the six games.
