The Rockets will be without starting point guard Pat Beverley who will miss Wednesday night's game against Washington with an abdominal injury.
Rockets head coach Kevin McHale said it was really bothering Beverley but didn't think anything too bad showed up in the MRI. McHale said he thought Beverley might have injured it in the game on Monday against Minnesota, but he went through practice yesterday.
"Pat's one of those guys that if he can play, (he will try to)," McHale said. "He wanted to play with a broken hand, he thought he could play with a pad on it, but we had to stop him. He's hurting right now."
Jeremy Lin will start in Beverley's place. It will be the 25th start of the season for Lin. The Rockets have won 17 of his previous 24 starts. Lin was a starter for the first two games of the Rockets current six-game winning streak and scored 18 points in each game. He also had 15 assists and 10 rebounds. Lin has also had at least seven assists in four of the last six games.
