I wouldn't go so far as to say ‘fairness’.

The NBA along with other Pro Sport clubs are competitive by the nature of the business. Players will need to adapt and strengthen themselves while growing with the teams.  Lin is a special case in NBA, due to run of Linsanity which raised expectations of the fans to believe that Lin was an experienced ball player and a finished product.  Criticism will always be there wherever he goes. We all wish him the best, play well to match up with what he earns.
