They lost today because Heat was determined, every single one of them stepped up and contributed. LeBron has earned the title and regular season MVP and finals MVP with complete game and maturity, and more importantly, the heart of a champion.
Thunder has great talents, and they lost today because they didn't have any viable 3rd option stepping up. Westbrook didn't play his best game, neither did Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant appreciates Westbrook a lot more than casual fans, because he knows he can't do it along, and he knows how much load Westbrook has taken from him.
Remember, KD's idol was Tracy McGrady, when he grew up, and he knows the pain TMac had gone through. KD is great at age of 23, but when TMac was 23, he scored 32 points, grabbed 6.5 rebounds, and dished out 5.5 assists per game in that season. 25-5-5 is normally considered a bench mark for an elite guard, and TMac did that with ease for quite some seasons. He was a better passer and better defender then than KD is now. He still didn't make to the 2nd round, because he simply didn't have talents besides him. Look at Thunder, they are loaded with young athletic talents.
Westbrook is not your typical Stockton or Nash kind of PG, but he's a scoring PG, similar to Parker. Although Parker maybe a better finisher around the basket when he was at peak, Westbrook is already a better shooter and a better defender. Parker won the finals MVP with his play. Westbrook has great potential with his steady improvement season after season. He's unique with his attacking mode and fearlessness. He would be welcomed by every coach in NBA. He didn't steal spot light from KD, and he's a big part why Thunders are here today.
Westbrook deserves more appreciation than he's enjoying.
