将中文古诗译成英文，应该是非常好的尝试和学习的过程。我在读了唐诗和翻译成英文的英文诗之后，有下面几点感受。

1. 不同的语言分别是不同的系统，因此它们有一些特性是只属于它们的。比如苹果和苹果PIE。苹果的清甜香脆只属于苹果，苹果做成苹果PIE之后，即便再好吃，苹果的清甜香脆也不在其中。虽然它们都有共同的东西，但是它们属于不同的“系统”。

 

2. 唐诗英译应该对于学习语言，特别是英文，有很大帮助。英文也像中文，有古英语的一些用词和特点。所以要把中文古诗翻译成英文，可能需要学习一些“古英语”，正如我们学习古文一样。

 

3. 英语诗歌也有现代和古代之分，具体如何我没有研究过。基督教的圣诗很多都是以古典诗歌的形式写成，比如下面这首”Be Thou My Vision”, 其中的写作手法和押韵是很有讲究的。

 

4. 当对古英语和古典英文诗歌有一些了解之后，对于唐诗的英译，最好是以古英语的形式翻译出来。

 

5. 个人认为，唐诗英译之后的更高境界，应该是自己独立创作出一些古典英文诗歌。
