Too Much Sorrow (On the Pillow)
By Mao Zedong
What do sorrows look like piling up on the pillow?
As if waves in river and sea, they turn high and low.
Long nights always make the dawn hard to become bright,
Getting up alone with my coat I count stars in the sky.
When the morning arrives, my thoughts will be all gone,
But your image will still float in my mind, on and on.
Alas, now the waning moon is slowly sinking to the west,
Seeing all this, I have no reason not to let my tears shed.
