请问学吉他是不是没啥用。

别人家在玩钢琴,小提琴时儿子糊里糊涂学起了吉他，一学好几年了，弹的还不错。自从middle school parent orientation后我发现中学band 里好像没有guitar 的位置。请问初中，高中有什么吉他集体演出的机会吗？all state auditions 有吉他吗? 我儿子也吹saxophone,也喜欢,我们是不是应该把重点移到saxophone 上？（有点功利了,见谅)
