请问 ： In God We Trust 的含义是什么？

我开始的理解是：基于上帝，我们互相信任。

印在硬币和纸币上，表达的意思是，

money is a credit, when you helped me, you are a service provider, and I am a service receiver. I give you the money as a credit; and, at any time, any where, by giving the credit to anybody, you are guaranteed that he will give same amount of service or goods to you, as long as he share the same credit system with us. 

这就是我的理解，互相的信任，

但是最近看wiki, 发现翻译的都是“我们信任上帝”。

没有直接表达互信的意思。

我英语语法不行，所以还是请问，到底确切含义是什么？
