Brian Crain出生在加利福尼亞好萊塢，10歲開始學鋼琴，但不久就對鋼琴練習產生厭倦。 19歲時，為了完成第一部採用旋轉磁頭數碼錄音的好萊塢全本電影，他建立了一個錄音工作室。在這個期間，Brian Crain偶爾會坐到被遺忘很久的鋼琴前，他會即興演奏一段，正像他以前用口哨即興演奏一樣，直到這些音符聽起來很好聽為止。不知不覺中，他就這樣自學了鋼琴。現在，Brian Crain已經售出了數十萬張唱片。有人在形容聽到Brian Crain演奏的鋼琴曲子後有這樣的感覺：“就好像漫天輕柔雪花在舞蹈，它們來自天堂，純潔無瑕的籠罩著周圍的世界。 ”而聽他的音樂給我有種衝動想喝杯咖啡，放下所有的事，靜靜的在音樂的撫慰下旋轉和跳躍……。

本專輯《Brian Crain and the BC String Ensemble》(Brian Crain與弦樂合奏)將Brian Crain從1996年至2003年間的17首優美音樂進行了重新錄製，其中部分音樂是Brian Crain在舞台上演出弦樂合奏。聽起來與他以往的專輯有所不同。
