卡彭特乐队（Carpenters）是美国的理查德•卡彭特(Richard Carpenter)和凯伦•卡彭特(Karen Carpenter)兄妹二人组成的演唱组合，1970年代和1980年代初期风靡一时。 卡彭特兄妹大红大紫是在1970年发行改自柏特•拜克拉的歌曲《They Long to Be Close to You》而成的单曲《（They Long to Be）Close to You》，这首单曲在当时蝉联美国流行音乐排行榜四周之久。随后的单曲《We've Only Just Begun》在百大排行榜中排名第二，成人音乐排行榜上七周得到第一。这首歌成为当年秋天卡彭特兄妹的第二首走红单曲，理查德认为这是卡彭特兄妹最有代表性的歌曲。这两首歌都收录在专辑《Close to You》，成为了卡彭特兄妹最畅销的专辑，还替卡彭特兄妹赢得两座葛莱美大奖，其中包括“最佳新人”奖。 卡彭特兄妹随后发行的畅销单曲使的两人一直能在排行榜上得名。1971年单曲《For All We Know》、《Rainy Days and Mondays》、《Superstar》；1972年单曲《Hurting Each Other》、《It's Going to Take Some Time》、《Goodbye to Love》；卡彭特兄妹则是在1973年发行了《Top of the World》，并且第二度攻占美国告示牌百大排行榜第一名，后来收录这些单曲的专辑《The Singles: 1969-1973》，攻占美国排行榜榜顶，以及英国销售史上的十年内最畅销的专辑，在美国就单独发行超过700万份。 70年代中期，卡彭特兄妹的歌曲已经是大众40首音乐清单中的固定成员，适合大众聆听，简单明了的成人音乐。卡彭特乐队所打造出的是妹妹凯伦独特无比的歌喉，以及哥哥理查德掌管一切、钢琴演奏和作曲的能力，理查德与好友约翰•贝提斯所写出的歌曲很多都成为脍炙人口的歌曲，包括《Goodbye to Love》、《Yesterday Once More》、《Top of the World》。 1983年2月4日，凯伦•卡彭特因长期严重神经性厌食症而突然去世，卡彭特乐队随之告终。 【专辑曲目】 01.
