from his Opera Oedipus, Scene 1

A very clean and elegant interpretation

this is not popular stuff here but what the heck, i have benefitted a great deal from this place in the past;
maybe a few will like it;

here are the lyrics:

Music for a while
Shall all your cares beguile:
Wond'ring how your pains were eas'd
And disdaining to be pleas'd
Till Alecto free the dead
From their eternal bands,
Till the snakes drop from her head,
And the whip from our her hands
