You were so wrong
The land of Israel was inhabited by Jewish people five thousand years ago. However, last two thousand years they were at exile. Because of the special connection between them and God, they want to settle in the land of Israel.
It is kinda like, someone grew up from a village. Later government decided to use your land and your house for other purpose, and forced to leave. That person went to a city, but he wanted to go back his homeland, the land of his father's and his grandfather's day and night. One day, he won the lotto and decided to go back his village and buy a house to settle down. But all the new neighbors said to him you were not from here, went back whatever you were from. Then the person told his neighbors he grew up from there, the land of his father's and his grandfather's. Don't you think that person has the rights to live whatever he likes? otherwise it is discrimination and racism.
So does Jewish people. they have the rights to live whatever they like, including the land of Israel.

That was they -- the local Arabs started conflict, not Jewish people. The Jewish community was under constant attacked from the Arabs. This happened even before the State of Israel was built. To soft the problem, UN decided to separate the Jews and the Arabs and build the State of Israel. This was agreed by UN. The next day, five Arab countries -- Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq invaded Israel. But they were defeated. It has shown that was the Muslim has strong hatred and discrimination towards the Jews.
