I am more interested in the "facts" not "assumption".

Battles/wars are won by execution not by analysis or calculation.  Many circumstances affect the outcome.  Weaponry is merely one of the determining factors regardless of the nationality.  

What to achieve to assure readers that the potential threat is not worthy a threat, repeatedly?
