55,000 Ton Capacity Floating Dry Dock

In 2014, HEGER designed an all steel, 55,000 long ton capacity floating dock based on the design parameters of BAE Systems Ship Repair, San Diego, California. The dock is designed to meet the requirements of the US Navy's MIL-STD 1625D and the American Bureau of Shipping.

The dock design package includes design drawings, specifications, and an operating manual with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC details.

The dock's design vessels are the LHD, LPD, and LHA class. The dock is also capable of docking large cruise ships such as the Diamond Princess.

The dock is currently being constructed in China with HEGER providing post-design consultation. The dock is on schedule to be delivered to San Diego, CA in 2016.
