1) 自发悼念胡耀邦
Mourning for Hu Yaobang and Protest
1989年4月18日
纪念碑上胡耀邦的巨幅画像，周围有许多学校献的花圈，及要求自由与民主的横幅。
April 18th. Students hold a lot of banner calling for "Freedom & Democracy
Enlightment" on the martyrs monument in Tiananmen Square festooned with a
great portrait of Hu YB, surrounded with wreaths dedicated to him by people
from many universities.
北大、清华、人民、北京钢铁学院、农业工程大学、北京理工学院等十多所高等院校的学生，于清晨4时游行至天安门广场，向人民英雄纪念碑献花，五百多名学生在人民大会堂东门外静坐。 学生的游行静坐，吸引了十万民众围观，有人即时加入。
2) 下跪请愿

胡耀邦追悼会后，郭海峰等三人在人民大会堂东门台阶上跪交请愿书，未获在大会堂里面的李鹏接受。据称李鹏最近在回忆录中否认知情。
After the memorial service for Hu Yaobang, Guo Haifeng and two others were
kneeling in front of the eastern steps of the Great Hall of the People,
presenting their petition. They were not received by Premier Li Peng, who
was then inside the building. Recently, in his memoir, Li Peng denied he was
aware of the petition.
当时游行提出的要求是：
一)重新评价胡耀邦同志的是非功过，肯定其民主、自由、宽松、和谐的观点；
二)彻底否定清除精神污染和反对资产阶级自由化，对蒙受不白之冤的知识分子给予平反；
三)国家领导人及其家属年薪及一切形式的收入向人民公开，反对贪官污吏；
四)允许民间办报，解除报禁，实行言论自由；
五)增加教育经费，提高知识分子待遇；
六)取销北京市政府制定的开于游行示威的“十条”规定；
七)要求政府领导人就政府失误向全国人民作出公开检讨，并通过民主形式对部份领导实行改选。

4) 赵紫阳和温家宝到广场看望绝食学生

1989年5月19日
五月十九日凌晨四时，赵紫阳和温家宝突然来到广场，看望公共汽车上的绝食学生。当时赵紫阳已经遭到中共内部整肃。
At 4 am on May 19th, Zhao Ziyang and Wen Jiabao, the present China’s
premier, suddenly appeared on the Square without advanced announcement and
visited the students who were still hunger striking inside the bus. Zhao
Ziyang had just been reprimanded by the Party leadership and was out of
power at that moment.

六四凌晨四时，士兵自人民大会堂冲出，枪口指向人民英雄纪念碑下的学生，一边开火一边推进。照片中其中一军人枪口可见火光。丁子霖教授最近收集到二位死在广场上的学生名单。
4 am, June 4th, 1989, Beijing, soldiers rushed out of the Great Hall of the
People, with guns pointed towards students under the Hero’s Memorial. They
fired as they pushed forward. In this picture the flash out of the muzzle of
the weapon of one soldier is clearly visible. Professor Ding Zhelin has
recently collected two more names of students who perished that night in the
Tiananmen Square.
6) 三轮车抢救伤员

一辆平板车急救二名伤员到附近医院。戒严士兵向天安门广场外围的民众扫射数百次。“人民子弟兵”向人民开枪。群众奋勇冒死抢救伤者。
June 4th. A rickshaw driver fierce y paddled the wounded people with the
help of bystanders to a nearby hospital. Soldiers again fired hundreds of
rounds towards angry crowds gathered outside Tiananmen Square.

1989年6月4日，香港的黑色大静坐，群众戴着黑纱，对死难者表示哀悼。
8) 王维林挡坦克
A man ( Wang Weilin ) stood alone before the marching tanks
1989年6月5日
手中并无寸铁，只凭凛然正气，一名北京市民挡住铁甲坦克车队。民不畏死，奈何以死惧之？
《时代》周刊把“王维林”列为世纪伟人，只因他只身勇挡坦克车队。其实我们不知道他是谁，叫什么，现在又在那里。
June 5th. Wang Weilin, who stood alone before the marching tanks, was listed
one of the giants of the 20th century. As a matter of fact, nobody really
knows who he was, what his name was and where he is now.
9) 妈妈我饿，但我吃不下
