You had a lot to eat in 1970s? Why I was always hungry?

In 1960s and 1970s, my hometown was always short of food. The reason is very simple, no one really worked hard in Mao's People's Commune, and then the field only grew half wild grass and half crops.  When I got a chance to take entrance exam for a college in deng's time, I escaped from the countryside life.

Around 1981, we had enough food simply because each family had some fields to grow crops. Then most people worked hard to produce foods to feed ourselves. 

Maybe your experieces was different. Please share.
