Summer is good time, but Bar Harbor is packed. It is hard to book a hotel or camping sit.
I went to there late Sept. last year, and camped 4 days in the park. It was about 60 F during the day and about 50-40 during night. It was really beautiful experiences. Try to avoid the summer school break.
