在美国冒充他人签字，后果严重到什么程度？

遭遇系里变态导师，不愿签一些很reasonable的要求，如OPT,想冒充她签字，不知后果最严重能严重到什么程度 （如果查出来的话）？
另外，应该没人去查OPT是否真的是it签的吧？
