Liens are used by individuals, businesses, and lenders to secure payment for a debt. A lien can be placed on your home, car, or any other personal or real property owned.
It may not apply to your case since the mortgage is under your name.
You may try to add your wife's name to the house mortgage first than remove your name on both title and morgage.
