But now, what's the point of forcing a child to learn something that's irrelevant to the rest of
his/her life? Parents ' intention might be good, but children probably wouldn't buy into it.
There are many ways for building characters, like team sports, scouting, etc.. Playing
a musical instrument isn't the only way to achieve the goal.
Most kids don't have that much determination to follow it through. It's much less fun than playing
outside, say, in a soccer team or attending a karate class. It requires sitting in one place for a long time and moving fingers
back and forth. I can totally understand why it's unappealing to a preschooler. Kids simply don't get why they have to
take this task, isolated from other kids, adults, and even their parents.
Few would enjoy learning piano at a young age. Start it and continue learning are both difficult.
