那个被杀的妻子真是不会保护自己。  她都跑出来了， 还被他抓回去， 还这么卑微地问 “taking me back so you can beat me to death?”   就是说在女方逃出家门前他已经打过她了， 而且还打得不轻。   她应该立刻报警， 如果没有手机， 就去求助邻居。 无论怎样， 就是不能让他再抓回去。

大约十一， 二年前， 我们这个县也发生过一起白男杀害华人妻子的案件.  女方是北京人， 有个CS的硕士学位的， 因为要照顾年幼的儿子， 她一直当家庭主妇。 她的丈夫也是长期有暴力倾向， 妻子常向一个美国女友诉说， 女友劝她离开， 她为了孩子有一个完整的家不舍得离开。 这些我都是从华盛顿邮报报道看来的。

LOS GATOS — A man has been jailed and charged with murder after he apparently confessed to strangling his wife with a rope and dumping her body in the Santa Cruz Mountains, according to authorities and court documents.

John Maxey Yeager, 56, has been charged with one count of murder and a count of felony false imprisonment in connection with the death of 40-year-old YingYing “Dawn” Yu, according to police and a criminal complaint filed Tuesday, one day shy of Yeager’s 57th birthday.

Yeager was being held without bail in the Santa Clara County Main Jail, and was arraigned Tuesday afternoon.

During the brief arraignment in a San Jose courtroom, Yeager was appointed legal counsel from the county public defender’s office. Judge Audra Ibarra ordered that Yeager remain in jail without bail at least until his next court hearing, scheduled for March 15.

Ibarra also approved no-contact protective orders for four minors; based on the court discussion, they are presumably the children of Yeager and the victim. A fifth unnamed person was also granted a protective order from Yeager.

Yeager’s only words in court were in response to Ibarra asking if he understood the conditions of the protective orders: “Yes I do.”

According to a probable cause affidavit from Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police, the victim was reported missing Jan. 8 by a co-worker who had not heard from her or seen her come to work in the new year. The co-worker told police that her husband, Yeager, “had provided an unusual explanation for her absence,” but that reason was not included in court documents filed this week.

A missing-persons investigation was launched, and officers obtained home-security video from a neighbor of the couple’s Hershner Court home, the affidavit states. Police added in a news release Tuesday that the investigation turned up evidence of a domestic-violence altercation on Dec. 31.

Jail records show that Yeager was arrested and booked into jail on Jan. 11 in connection with the suspected domestic-violence encounter shown in the video footage. Two days later, the affidavit states that during a police interview Yeager “admitted to strangling his wife” to death with a rope the night of Dec. 31, “and then disposing of her body in the Santa Cruz Mountains.”

On Saturday, authorities went to a remote area off Summit Road, which is where investigators determined Yeager had gone to earlier this year. There they found human remains “believed to be that of Dawn Yu.” Those remains were placed in the custody of the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office the next day.

The county Department of Family and Children's Services has been summoned to ensure the safety of the couple’s children, police said.
