This was a quite typical behavior related to seeking for independence and testing new limits with growing self confidence & abilities for this age. Although the intensity will be much higher in "official" teenage yrs.

Handle it calmly and matter of factly. Set up safety rules firmly. 

Also, let her have more away from home, organized short trips with shool mates, firends, etc...  The organizers of those activities will always emphasize the safety rules and peer pressure will make her understand the importance of the rules.
