Great Grandma texted Grandpa Wednesday PM: "Fly in Friday PM. Papa has an announcement to make Saturday AM."

Grandpa texted Papa Thursday AM: "Be at the Granny's Friday PM. They have an announcement to make Saturday AM."

Papa texted me Thursday PM: "Be here by noon Friday. We will hop over to the Great Granny's for a Saturday AM announcement."

Saturday AM. Great Grandpa: "My thing has stopped working." [Note: An earlier version of this post used a different word for "thing," and the post did not survive.]

Great Grandpa died Saturday PM.

Now it is Sunday AM, and we are making funeral arrangements, still feeling the earth-shattering impact of Great Grandpa's barely-day-old announcement.
