And here is a curious little anecdote:

1932 gold ounce = $20.67

1932 Yale University tuition, room, and board = $1,056 (51 ounces of gold)

2018 gold ounce = $1,225

2018 Yale University tuition, room, and board = $65,000 (53 ounces of gold)
