My insurance copanyare is going to pay me more than 20,000. Does

Thank you. My insurance copanyare is going to pay me more than 20,000. Does it mean the mortgage company will hold the check untill I repair everything? But ,in that case , if I still have some money left like more than10,000 after the whole repairment so what they will do. give me the lest money and let me deposit it or they will insist I should use full money to repair house.
another question, if the mortgage hold the check,how can I get the money to repair the house?
