Short-term and long-term disability insurance

I do not know Canada. I live in US. My employer cover short-term (up to 6 months) disability insurance or sick leave. Myself buy long-term disability insurance cover 50 or 60% my base salary. LZ please check your daughter's insurance coverage and discuss with HR about sick leave and other benefits. You may get all the information you need.
