我父母都80多岁有美国绿卡。2021年回中国看病，办了两年的re-entry permit. 2023年11月到期。目前已经过期五个月。当时因为疫情和生病没法动，现在他们想回美国。绿卡还在有效期内，2025年中到期。
我给美国海关(CBP) 打电话咨询，问他们能不能出一个类似waiver的材料，让我爸妈过海关是用，因为re-entry permit 已经失效。他们说不能出这个材料。
请教老师们下面的各种可行性。
1. 硬闯：带着我写的解释信去机场，但有没有可能不让上飞机？太折腾了。
-You can try (find some reasonable excuses/justification) and hope the immigration officer at the port of entry is not strict. Some people have done this successfully, so I think your parents also have a chance, especially their age is old and thus the officer may give them compromise. Your parents should have no problem to board the flight using the green card.
2. 继续寻求官方waiver 材料：去哪家找？我是美国公民，找议员管用吗？
-Don't think it is useful.
3. SB-1 visa: 能在北京大使馆办吗？
-No. Need to apply for it in the US Consulate in Guangzhou. I do not suggest your parents to do it because there is extremely little chance to get the SB-1 visa.
Another choice is that they may abandon their green card and then, apply for the B2 visa to enter US. Then, you can sponosr their green card again.
目前有人办成功吗？据说挺麻烦，因为有绿卡还要办签证。
