我朋友两口子自己申请的NIW是2009年7月份批准的，男方持H1B签证，女方持H4签证。他们的儿子在美国出生后2011年全家回国，NIW既没撤销也没有再推进。2023年12月朋友的老婆以旅游签证带孩子来美读初中。老公继续在国内工作。他们两口子想请教8老师如何解决他们的身份问题。

他们的case是否仍然有效？

如果有效是否可以自己直接提交（还是请律师）485？
-He needs to enter US to file I-485 and her wife also can file I-485 together with him. Her wife cannot file I-485 separately if he does not file I-485 within US.
Another choice is that he files I-824 to request USCIS to forward his approved I-140 to NVC for processing for him to apply for the immigrant visa in China, and then his wife can go to China to apply for the immigrant visa together with him.
应该注意什么问题？老公目前在国内的工作和之前在美的工作勉强有关。
如果他们的case失效，应该怎么办？
是否可以抛开之前的case请律师重新开始申请EB1A？
