绿卡，家人在美工作，住房自有，每年去中国4-5次，每次离美一到两个月，以前一直都顺利。最近入关被问去中国目的，如实回答短期工作，然后被叫去办公室问了一些问题后放行，但被建议申请re-entry或SB-1签证。我的问题是：离开的时间一般不到两个月，而申请这两个文件任何一个都可能需要三个月，是否必须需要申请？不申请有何后果？
-You need to apply for the reentry permit because you go back and forth between US and China too often. Otherwise, your green card may be taken away.  Please note that the green card is for you to live in US permanently, not just use it as entry-exit card.
