I am planning to renew my mom's green card in January 2019. Do you know  how long it will take to renew green card now?

-Normally it takes about 6 months to one year, case by case.

Would renew online be faster than by mail?

-No difference.

Any suggestions?

-If your mom needs the green card to travel during the renewal application penidng, she can bring the I-90 filing receipt and passport to the local USCIS Office to get the green card stamp.
