J1是2017年8月27日到期，F1的开始时间是2017年8月27日。

移民局的信说F1的开始时间是2018年1月10日。

这样的情况申诉的机率如何？
-Because the I-20 has been expired for a long time, I don't think you will win the case. Do you have any valid non-immigrant status currently? If no, I suggest you to go back to China to get the F-1 visa to come back for the Fall Semester of 2018. Otherwise, if you file I-209B for Motion to reopen or appeal and it fails, then your unlawful presence will be counted from the date when your F-1 case was denied. Thus, your unlawful presence will be > 6 months or one year, and you will be subjected to 3- or 10-year bar if you leave US. That will be very serious.
