我太太是h4身份，由于担心我工作不稳定，现申请了当地大学的esl full-time 课程，学校开始申请i－20。
那有几个问题：
1，如有i－20，必须要转f1签证吗？-Not hae to. 可以保留i20吗？
-Yes, but teh issued I-20 has indicated the start date and expiration date there, so you may get a new I-20 in the future if you want to change status to F-1 later, not now. Talk to the School International Student Office when you want to change to F-1, and they know how to help you.
2，我如果h1b失去工作后，再挂靠太太的f1吗？
-Yes if your wife has F-1 status.
时间上来的急吗?
-Because the employer should inform you the layoff in advance, you should have enough time to file the change of status application (I-539).
