首先，正在填 DS 160表，有几个问题：

1. 是应该选temporary working visa这一项吗？-Yes.

2. 问到谁pay for the trip, 是该选petitioner还是self呢？

-It is paid by yourself.

3. 在选择题 Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?中，该回答yes 还是no 呢？  -Say "Yes".

事实情况是我现在的单位刚给我递交了I-140. 这算不算file呢？-Yes.

 

有一个和面试相关的问题：

  我现在的单位（一个liberal arts college)  帮我递交了I-140, 也刚给我把工作签证延长到了 2019年。 但是给了我 1-year notice, 也就是说，明年我就必须离职，去寻找新的工作。到时候等不到file 485就等于说丢工作了。这一情况，如果在面试中被触及，需要实话说吗？

-Not need to say anything about this kind of thing. You need to get the employment verification letter from your current employer and your recent paycheck stubs (e.g. the paycheck stubs of Jan to June this year) for the H-1B visa application interview. Also bring the copies of tax retruns and W-2 Forms since you worked as the H-1 holder, just in case.

还有一个技术问题：

我现在已经是H1b第三年了，一直在学术界工作，如果明年换成industry的工作，新单位还可以给我六年的新签证吗？

-Total regular H-1 is 6 years no matter how many employers you work. But if you have the approved I-140 (e.g. current I-140 is approved), then you can extend your H-1 beyond the 6-year H-1 limit indefinitely  as long as the I-140 is not withdrawn by the sponsor no matter which employer you work later. By the way, if you want to work for an industrial company, you need to get the H-1 quote (that is not easy).
