8老师： 您好！我们有一个紧急的问题恳请8老师指教：我们孩子将要读研究生院（今秋），需要change of status (H1b to F1)。我 和太太刚得到绿卡，但孩子年龄大了没能得到 （孩子在美读的中学， 大学，毕业后工作了3年）。如果她回到中国去签F1 visa, 会不会在"strong ties to home country"上面有问题？
-It is hard to say. At least he has to have a permanent living address in China, and he had better have a future career plan in China after he finishes his graduate study, and explain to the VO why he wants to study for a higher degree, which should be consistent with his career plan in China. If he can get a letter of hiring intent from a company/institue in China addressing that they intend to hire him after he completes his graduate study, that will be very helpful.
By the way, why doesn't he just file change of status from H-1 to F-1 within US?
