8老师。真心感谢您的回复。又来麻烦你了。晚上到家，朋友发信息说在美国境内转身份有前提：必须当前身份失效期为半年以上。朋友说他当年J转F,因为不够半年，所以回国签证的。

我的I20现为F2，8月底到期，是不是无法在境内转身份，必须要回国呢？

-No. You can file I-539 to change of status to J-1 within US before your current F-2 expires (i.e. before August). But you have to get he J-1 waiver if you want to be H-1 again or apply for green card in the future if you change your status to J-1 now.
