8老师您好，我现在在consular processing阶段，刚刚交了IV fee,请问何时能收到NVC发给我的NVC welcome letter的email?

我现在居住的国家要办无犯罪证明，必须要一个notice from NVC requesting the police clearance. The notice should include the case number and the applicant's name.

请问这里说的这个notice就是NVC welcome letter吧？

-No. There is not NVC Welcome Letter. After you provide all of the required documents to NVC including DS 260 Visa Application, then NVC will send you the Appointment Notice which list the documents required for visa interview indcluding the Police Clearance Certificate (无犯罪证明), but it may take a long time for you to receive the appointment notice (3 to 6 months, case by case). Thus, you can not wait for the notice to get the 无犯罪证明 in your current resident country.  So, you may just print out the information from the webiste of US Department of State, and use that information to request the 无犯罪证明 in that country. 我还有俩月就要离开这个国家了，急需这个notice好在离开前办好无犯罪证明。

有人说交了IV fee以后NVC不会主动发什么notice,就靠申请人主动填DS-260和submit supporting documents. 不知是真是假。这情况我根本无法获得无犯罪证明啊。这该怎么办呢？
