谢谢老师您的回复。可是我们学校OIS说孩子要回国重新办J2签证，也没有给我们明确的理由。我们在移民局网站上也没有看到相关的法律规定，所以很迷惑。而且，我们的签证有2年回国服务期的限制，我担心孩子回去就不能再以J2身份来美国了。
-The two-year home residency requirement or two-year repeat participation bar does not affect your child J-2 visa application in China based on your spouse's J-1 status. So, your child may apply for the J-2 visa to come back.

我们是否可以自己去移民局给孩子办这个J2签证延期呢？
-No. The sponsor/university needs to issue a new DS 2019 to your child for J-2 extension or J-2 visa application, and also put this information into SEVIS.
