我现在是F1，由于一时没找到工作，在语言学校挂了一段，想转成F2了。请问是不是申请一提交，我就可以合法在美国等待签证？

还是得想办法维持F1身份一直到F2的签证批下来（如继续在语言学校注课）？在等待F2签证批准中间，如果找到公司愿意给我办H1B，那么我是不是需要撤回申请F2的材料？
-You can not withdraw the F-2 application, otherwise your status will have a gap and your H-1 application may be denied. So, the problem will be that if your H-1 application is approved before your F-2 approval, then the F-2 status will override the H-1 status, thus your final status will F-2 and you have to go to China to get the H-1 visa to come back. Of course, if your F-1 is approved first, then H-1 is approved later, then you will be OK to continue to stay in US to work.
还是新提交的H1B使前面那个申请自动失效了？
