Here is the situation: My family is 485 pending, the priority date is only a few months away from current PD. My son changed his first name recently (legal document and Social security number), but he hasn't changed his name on his passport yet. Now it's time for us to renew AP/EAD card, my questions:
1. should we notify USCIS about name change ?
2. If so, he needs his new passport first, right ?
3. If not, Is it worth to change name on AP/EAD considering we may get green card in a few months, I'm assuming there will be at least a few hundred dollars charge to name change
4. would it complicate our green card application ?
