Hi Teacher 863211,
When helping my dad fill up the form DS-320, and I have the following couple of questions:
1) in form DS-320 part I, on page 2, question 30
list below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, inculding places in your country of nationality.
-This form is called DS-230, not DS-320, right?
a) He noved and lived in several places in the same city in China in the past...I wonder whether he needs to fill up all of the address in China he lived or he only needs to fill up the one he is currently living at?
-If the city is big and his addresses were in the different districts in the city (different local goverments), he had better report all the addresses he had in the DS-230.
b) He came to visit me in the US several times before, and I think he should show all his visits in the forms since that would be consistent with his records with uscis. Is that right?
-He does not need to report the US address (your address) in the form because he was the visitor for the short visiting US, not the resident in U.S.
2) In form DS-320 part II, on page 4, question 43b.
Consent of Disclosure...
My guess on this is that : If my dad will apply for SSN later, he should check box "YES" on this question.
-Correct. He needs to say "Yes".
By the way, he also needs to provide the non-crime certificate for the immigration visa.
