i spend 9 months in China, and finally have to come back to US because long time outside US will influence your physical presence requirement when you apply US citizenship.

one thing to pay attention to: if you make frequent trips between china and US, i suppose you will use Advanced Parol. usually you have two advanced parole docs. in some cases, INS officer may take one when you enter US. i only used advanced parole once. so, not sure if you will use up all your two APs before your green card comes out. at least do make some copies and if the INS officer does ask for that, try to give him the copy.
