H1 B postdoc wants to ESCAPE

Hi, friends.
I am a postdoc on H1b in a University. I have worked for less than a year. However I found the project is not as interesting as I expected. More importantly my boss's personality is the worst I ever know. Being a postdoc, we really need to be respected. I really want to change a job. My employment is renewed annually, I did not sign any contract regarding how long I will work here. How and what should I do now?
I appreciate suggestions from friends who have successfully got rid of such bad situations.
